Data Security and Communication via e-mail
While this facility is provide at no cost to the user as a semi-secure means to transfer information, it can not be regarded as safe for highly sensitive material of a personal or business nature. Please note that e-mail in particular is not considered a secure medium for sending information and may therefore be at risk. SDIT will advise the Recipient of the deposit of a file in their mailbox. This notification email for convenience will contain the username and password of the recipient. We advise that to use this facility you understand and accept this potential reduction in the level of security when using this form of communication with us. If we receive an e-mail from you, we will assume that we are authorised to reply via the same medium unless you explicitly request an alternative form of reply.
Patient identifying details should not be transmitted by email unless expressly authorised by that patient, and you are to ensure all communication are HIPAA complaint (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Public Law 104-191, enacted August 21, 1996). The Privacy Rule protects all "individually identifiable health information" held or transmitted by a covered entity or its business associate, in any form or media, whether electronic, paper, or oral.
The sender will need to make a judgment as to the reasonableness or otherwise of sending personal information of their own or of another person using the SDIT Facility.
Privacy Policy SDIT respects your privacy and confidentiality:

Our site makes no attempt to determine who you are unless you provide those details as part of the download or registration process;

SDIT has no issue if you choose to use an alias, or non-identifying username, however a real email address is required to use this facility;

If you send an inquiry from our website we will keep your information confidential;

We do not share your information with any third parties, apart form that required to provide the download options as requested by you, or to seek assistance for a problem or issue raised by you.
SDIT Maintenance and Mailbox clearance:

SDIT management retains the right to remove users who behave inappropriately.

Users are asked to delete files from their mailbox when no longer needed.

Users should also recognise that SDIT should not be used as a secure long term access data facility. SDIT management reserved the right to clear mailboxes at regular intervals depending on data storage capacity. Only those files that have remained in a mailbox for a considerable period will be cleared, and prior to deletion, an email will be sent to the mailbox recipient advising of the imminent deletion.
